Process

AltCode uses an advanced system to store and analyze information about the customer application code. The COBOL code is expanded to include the copybooks, parsed into an internal code representation and then analyzed. In addition, the process parses the database definitions. The analysis system combines the pieces of information derived from the parsing process and produces a set of linkages that convey the relationships of the programs to each other, to external files and to the database tables.

Output

The results of the parsing process are stored in an SQL compliant database known internally as Rebase. Customized analysis results could be extracted from Rebase and stored in an Excel spreadsheet for customer review and for easy distribution.
